Erie, PA — Experienced and credentialed engineers and technicians at the Eriez® Technical Center test customers’ samples, sent from all over the world, to determine the most efficient and profitable ways to process or handle their materials. The Technical Center has more than 100 types of permanent magnetic, electromagnetic, vibratory, screening, electronic metal detecting, hydraulic and flotation equipment to handle a wide variety of materials.

The Technical Center, located in Erie, Pa., site of Eriez’ World Headquarters, first went into operation in 1964. Since its establishment, the facility has conducted application tests numbering in the tens of thousands on all types of materials and processes.

“Tests range from evaluating material flow on a vibratory feeder to classifying minerals through flotation technology and identifying contaminants in products,” said Greg Nowak, Technical Director. “In addition to these routine material tests, pilot scale tests are also conducted in the Technical Center to evaluate various equipment combinations to provide the best processing solutions.”

The Eriez Technical Center offers both expertise and state-of-the-art testing equipment for flowsheet development, determination of potential use, characterization of product, best handling procedures or best separation approach for sample materials. Visual inspection and basic assessment of each sample are standard. If a positive assessment of the sample is made, Eriez may recommend additional testing.

The Technical Center is  part of Eriez’ Orange University®, a comprehensive educational resource that includes the company’s mobile training center, free tools, literature library, newsletters, magnet safety information, articles, and more.
