Gardner Business Media and its brands Modern Machine Shop and Production Machining will host the inaugural TASC event in Novi, Mich on Oct. 10-11. The Automated Shop Conference, (TASC), is a premiere two-day event that is designed to provide key insights and practical guidance to shops of all sizes in need of automation solutions. The full program for this event will feature more than 20 speakers with classroom-style technical content. The conference is co-chaired by Modern Machine Shop’s Editor-In-Chief Brent Donaldson and President of LAB Midwest, Matt Kirchner.

    Who Should Attend TASC?

The event, which caters toward small- and mid-sized machine shops with 50 employees or fewer who have or plan to invest in light-out machining and automating mid- to high-volume parts, will also include networking opportunities and curated shop and facility tours in the Novi, Mich area.

In addition to listening to speakers, attendees will be able to interact with numerous sponsors and exhibitors who will showcase their latest products, equipment and services through table-top displays in intimate, dedicated space adjacent to the general session rooms.

“The time is now for an automation technology conference like TASC, where industry specialists will share their own automation strategies, and where shop owners and managers can learn from each other and focus on automation solutions that make sense for their operations,” Donaldson says. “Through Modern Machine Shop’s Top Shops benchmarking data, we already know that this country’s top performing small- and mid-sized shops are automating, although in some cases not at the same levels at larger shops. What’s more clear is that higher levels of automation are associated with higher performance.”

    What will TASC offer?

On Oct. 9, TASC will offer facility tours of FACUC and technology accelerator LIFT, as well as an opening cocktail party. Oct. 10 and Oct 11 will include conference sessions with topics relating to automation including an opening keynote address by Kirchner about how to prepare your team for implementing automation.
