MADISON, Wis., (January 23, 2026) – Tormach, a US-based manufacturer of CNC machines and automation tools, announces the next evolution of its 770MX CNC mill. The upgraded 770MX delivers more power, faster motion and multiple operator-focused improvements while maintaining the same starting price as the previous model.
Designed for shops and teams that need high performance in a compact footprint, the latest 770MX build includes a series of enhancements intended to reduce cycle times, improve ease of use and support consistent, repeatable machining performance across a wide range of applications.
“At Tormach, continuous improvement isn’t a buzzword – it’s how we build machines. Because we’re 100% employee-owned, we’re always looking for ways to deliver more value, more capability and more confidence for machinists at every level,” said Brennan Williams, COO of Tormach. “This latest generation of the 770MX reflects that commitment. It’s the next evolution of a platform customers already love, now with meaningful upgrades…all without increasing the price tag.”
The new 770MX features an absolute encoder EtherCAT servo motion system and an EtherCAT-based control platform for the spindle and axes, supporting faster, more responsive motion and integrated feedback. The machine also includes increased spindle capability, with 2 hp continuous power and 4.5 hp peak intermittent power, while still running on single-phase power.
Motion performance has also been improved, with maximum feed rates of 450 IPM in X and Y and 420 IPM in Z. The 770MX maintains a compact working envelope of 14” (X) x 7.5” (Y) x 13.25” (Z), delivering serious machining capability in a footprint that fits more shops, labs and workspaces.
In addition to performance upgrades, Tormach incorporated several enhancements intended to improve daily operation and usability. The upgraded 770MX includes a 21.5” PathPilot® touchscreen operator console as standard, along with built-in load meters for the spindle and axes. Additional refinements include an integrated air gun on the front of the enclosure, improved side-loading windows, a door latch included by default and mounting locations for tool holder racks and Wall Control-compatible storage solutions.
The 770MX is available in two default configurations: a factory-assembled option that includes an automatic tool changer and flood coolant system, and a self-assembled option that ships in components for on-site assembly.
The upgraded 770MX is Tormach’s third machine built by employee-owners in North America. As a 100% employee-owned company, Tormach designs and manufactures the 770MX in the United States, Canada and Mexico to support quality control and faster customer response.
The 770MX CNC mill is available now, starting at $25,995, with payments as low as $531/month. For more information, including full technical specifications and configuration options, visit Tormach.com.
