READING, PENNSYLVANIA, October 1, 2024 – EnerSys (NYSE:ENS), the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, is proud to support 2024 National Manufacturing Week – showcasing the potential of modern manufacturing and fostering interest in manufacturing careers. National Manufacturing Week occurs this year from October 4 to 11 and honors the contributions of the sector by sharing information about manufacturing advancements during the past year and its impact on the country’s economy.

“Though it often goes unnoticed, manufacturing serves a critical function in our lives. It’s how we get so many of the items we use every day,” said Troy Baxter, Vice President of Global Operations for Motive Power at EnerSys. “It’s important to remind ourselves of just how critical manufacturing is, as a pillar of our economy and overall quality of life. This includes our own manufacturing operations, which is why we’re vigilant about refining our own processes – minimizing waste while improving worker safety, delivery times and product quality.”

In recognition of its manufacturing best practices, EnerSys was recently named as a finalist by the Manufacturing Leadership Council (MLC) for three of their prestigious Manufacturing Leadership Awards. The MLC is also hosting an exclusive, members-only tour of the EnerSys plant in Richmond, Kentucky. Scheduled during National Manufacturing Week, the event will provide MLC attendees an exclusive look into the EnerSys Operating System (EOS) and how it facilitates building and deploying a scalable, lean ecosystem across processes, people and multiple global locations.

The award-winning EnerSys facility in Richmond, Kentucky has evolved the century-old process of manufacturing industrial batteries into a progressive, highly advanced lean operation – with globally-standardized systems benchmarked by manufacturers across industries.

“We’re both proud and grateful for the recognition that has been given to us by the MLC,” said Patrice Bauman, Chief Integrated Supply Chain Officer at EnerSys. “We are humbled to be included amongst other renown global industry leaders that are MLC members, and we’re excited to share some of our operational best practices to help all the attendees make their operations more productive, efficient and safer for workers as well.”

The advanced EOS practices from the EnerSys Richmond facility are deployed across the entire global EnerSys manufacturing network – dramatically improving operating efficiency. These practices have even produced a ground-breaking, 24-hour “order-to-ship” program that enables shipment of popular products to customers within 24 hours of receiving their order.
