Greensburg, PA, May 20, 2024 – General Carbide CorporaMon, a vertically integrated  manufacturer of finished tooling, wear parts, and components for customers in more than two dozen market segments, will hold its Third Annual Career Signing Day event this Thursday, May  23, at 11:30 a.m. at the General Carbide Career Academy at 1181 Garden Street; Greensburg,  PA, 15601. General Carbide Career Signing Day is a momentous milestone for graduating High  School Seniors from academic achievement and into the workforce. This event celebrates their accomplishments and signifies their readiness to embark on fulfilling careers within  General Carbide.

During Career Signing Day, General Carbide will officially welcome eight students, from four local school districts by having them sign letters of commitment, symbolizing their dedication and decision to join our workforce. These students have demonstrated exceptional skills, dedication, and alignment with the company’s values and vision during their pre-apprenticeships at General Carbide. This event symbolizes the company’s commitment to fostering talent, innovation, and growth within our organization and with the next generation of manufacturing.

Signing Day will feature keynote speeches from General Carbide’s leadership team, highlighting the company’s values, culture, and commitment to employee development.

Mona Pappafava-Ray, President, and CEO of General Carbide, said, “I am proud of the work and  Mme the General Carbide team has invested in the next generation of our workforce. It is exciting to see how signing day for our seniors evolved from an idea Jessica Gardner, our Human  Resources Manager, adopted from the sports world just a little over two years ago.

“I am honored that the concept of signing day for students going into the workforce started here at General Carbide adding to our strong legacy. Jessica has taken the lead with this event and has grown it into a monumental milestone by creating a ceremony where students have a place to celebrate their decision to join the workforce. Students have signing events for athletics and academics, and now because of the efforts of our General Carbide team we are leading the  way for signing days into manufacturing careers.”

“We are thrilled to welcome our newest team members and celebrate their decision to join us  on this exciting journey,” adds Jessica Gardner, Human Resources Manager. “At General Carbide, we believe in investing in talent and providing opportunities for growth and development. We  are confident that our new hires will contribute to our continued success and help us achieve  our goals.”

General Carbide CorporaMon remains committed to fostering a work environment where employees can thrive and realize their full potential.
