Charlotte, NC – (Aug. 20, 2025) Murata Machinery USA, Inc. (Muratec USA), a world-class automation leader in fabrication machinery and automated turning centers, will spotlight the evolution and future of sheet metal fabrication at FABTECH 2025, September 8–11 at McCormick Place, Hall A, Booth A4531.

Building on more than 100 years of Wiedemann metal forming innovation and over five decades of automation leadership, Muratec USA will demonstrate its latest advancements with a dynamic pairing: the MF30510HL combination punch press/fiber laser and the FG3015, an advanced sorting loader for intelligent parts handling, making its FABTECH debut.

“Presenting the MF30510HL alongside the FG3015 marks a milestone in our ongoing mission to streamline and elevate sheet metal manufacturing,” said Jeff Kalmbach, General Manager of Muratec USA’s Machine Tools Division. “Together, these machines offer unmatched multifunctionality, empowering job shops to run faster, smarter, and with greater confidence in today’s high-mix, high-demand environment.”

First introduced at FABTECH 2024, the MF30510HL consolidates punching, laser cutting, forming, tapping, and deburring into one seamless, automated process. Equipped with a 30-ton punching capacity and 4.0 kW fiber laser, it delivers high-speed processing across a large 5′ x 10′ work envelope, eliminating the need for multiple machines or setups.

The new FG3015 complements the MF30510HL by automating part sorting and handling with precision. Featuring servo-controlled operation, edge detection, sheet separation, and a FANUC-based flexible manufacturing system (FMS), the FG3015 supports lights-out production. Its multi-pad vacuum arm automatically adjusts for part size, shape, and material, enabling micro jointless parts production and sorting of mixed part sizes during the same cycle. Programmable stacking patterns streamline downstream processes while the compact right-side layout conserves shop space.

“The FG3015 represents our latest step toward truly intelligent automation,” said Matt Ward, Fabrication Business Unit Manager at Muratec USA. “Today, automation isn’t a competitive edge—it’s a requirement. At FABTECH, we’re showing how manufacturers of all sizes can harness integrated solutions to reduce labor dependency, increase throughput, and stay resilient in a changing market.”

    Muratec’s Legacy of Fabrication Innovation

Founded in 1935 in Kyoto, Japan, Murata Machinery Ltd. has built a nine-decade legacy of innovation. Muratec’s leadership in sheet metal fabrication traces back to the Wiedemann Machine Company, established in 1916 and renowned for industry milestones like the world’s first NC turret punch press in 1955, as well as Muratec’s introduction of the first electric servo motor turret punch press, the Motorum 2000, in 1994, revolutionizing the industry forever. A partnership between Murata and Wiedemann in 1970 led to the creation of Murata Warner Swasey Co., which became Murata Wiedemann following Murata Machinery’s acquisition of the brand in 1989.

Murata Machinery Ltd. established a permanent U.S. presence in 1974 with the founding of Murata of America Inc. By 1991, the unified “Muratec” brand was introduced, and in 2002, Murata Wiedemann and Murata of America merged to form Murata Machinery USA, Inc. (Muratec USA). Today, Muratec continues to lead the industry with a comprehensive lineup of turret punch presses, punch/laser combinations, and fully integrated automation systems.
