[MILWAUKEE, Wisc., April 9, 2025] – Tormach, a U.S.-based manufacturer of capable and affordable CNC machines, proudly participated in the Milwaukee Bucks’ annual STEM Day at Fiserv Forum on Tuesday, April 8.
This marks the second consecutive year Tormach has taken part in the event, which brings together hundreds of students from Milwaukee-area schools for an exciting day of interactive exhibits focused on science, technology, engineering, and math.
Tormach’s team was on-site running live demos of its xsTECH desktop CNC router — a compact, classroom-ready machine widely used in schools, makerspaces, and technical training programs. Students had the opportunity to personalize and engrave their names on aluminum dog tags using the xsTECH, taking home their finished tag as a unique souvenir and a tangible introduction to CNC technology.
“The energy from students at events like STEM Day is incredible,” said Max Sample, Presales Technical Engineer at Tormach. “When they get to design something and watch it come to life on the machine, it turns STEM into something real and exciting. It’s a great way to introduce them to careers in engineering, machining, and manufacturing.”
The xsTECH router is designed to make CNC learning approachable, even for first-time users. With a small footprint, built-in safety features, and Tormach’s intuitive PathPilot® control system, it allows students to gain real-world experience with design software, G-code programming, and digital fabrication — skills that are in high demand across many industries.
Hosted by the Milwaukee Bucks and supported by industry partners, STEM Day aims to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers by giving students meaningful exposure to STEM careers. Tormach’s continued involvement highlights the company’s commitment to supporting educators and closing the manufacturing skills gap.
