MESA International announces a call-for-speakers to support our 2024 Virtual Event: Smart Manufacturing NOW! The event, scheduled for September 23-26, 2024, will highlight sustainability, productivity and growth utilizing Smart Manufacturing technologies.
The theme of the event is:
“Smart Manufacturing NOW! Sustainability. Productivity. Growth. Impacting the World. NOW!”
Prospective presenters are invited to submit original contributions relevant to the theme of the event. Presentations can address solutions in companies of any size and in any industry or geography.
Selection Criteria
Preferences will be given to those companies whose topics support the vision and theme of the event. To be considered, presenters must complete the online submission form in its entirety.
Presentations will be selected according to the following criteria:
- Appropriateness and alignment of the topic with the event vision and theme.
- Focus on how your operations management / plant-wide IT/OT systems support the connections between the different manufacturing lifecycles/cross-lifecycle threads/enabling technologies. Subject matter may range from planning and implementation to challenges and results.
- Ability to show operational metrics and/or financial metrics.
- Features Manufacturer/Producer presenters or a joint presentation between a Manufacturer / Producer and Vendor / Consultant.

Guidelines
Use these guidelines when completing the Online Presentation Submission Form.
ALL fields are required and must be filled out for your submission to be reviewed by the planning committee.
Submissions to Include:
Title: Choose a title that is clear, concise, and intriguing; no more than 9 words. Capture the essence of your topic. Many attendees will decide whether or not to attend your session based on your title.
Abstract: In 250 – 300 words maximum, identify what knowledge or skills attendees will be able to take away from your presentation. Be sure to include your challenge, solution process, and results. If your presentation is selected for this event, your abstract will be reviewed, edited, and published on the event website and in various event promotion materials.
Speaker Biography: Briefly describe your background and expertise that can be used to introduce you to the audience (100 -150 words maximum). If more than one speaker, please provide a biography for each. Presenters should be well versed on their proposed subject matter with the ability to convey the material in a dynamic, logical, and organized manner.
Additional Guidelines:
- Presentations will be 30 minutes in length, with approximately 10-15 minutes for Q&A at the end of each presentation. Total time allotted per presentation is 45 minutes.
- Each presenter should include no more than 1-2 slides on personal and company introductions. Attendees want to hear your presentation and the results you achieved.
- The event will provide the event technology and will promote the presentations as part of the program associated with the MESA International 2024 Virtual Event.
- Presenters can provide electronic handouts with their session.
- All presentations will be delivered with the highest professionalism to maximize the value obtained by the attendee. Presentations should be non-commercial and educational in nature. Any selling (perceived or overt) during the session is deemed unprofessional and is not acceptable.
- Selection decisions made by the planning committee are final and without appeal.
- Selected presenters and alternates will be contacted by the MESA Headquarters to coordinate logistics and details.
- Upon acceptance of the presentation, it is the responsibility of the presenters to attend a practice session to be scheduled prior to the live event dates and be present during the virtual event during the time allotted. All deadlines must be met.Each presenter will be provided with one (1) pass to the full event and a one (1) year complimentary individual MESA membership.
- Each presentation will be submitted in PowerPoint by the presenter(s), approximately 8 weeks prior to the event date (see list of important dates below). A PowerPoint template will be provided.
