Charlotte, NC (July 16, 2012) – CNC machine tool manufacturer Okuma America Corporation and distributor Hartwig, Inc. will host a manufacturing technology show August 1-2, 2012 at the Hartwig showroom in Wichita, Kansas. The event will focus on educating attendees on the utilization of existing technology and equipment to increase productivity and improve quality.
Featured seminars will be presented by Okuma product specialists, Partners in THINC members Sandvik Coromant and Mastercam and Tsugami. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn:
- Why your next vertical machining center should be a horizontal machining center
- The Power of THINC – The application of Okuma’s Intelligent Technologies
- Successful CNC drilling and tapping (presented by Sandvik)
- Swiss Made Simple (presented by Tsugami)
Other presentations will combine classroom seminars with a hands-on look at Okuma machines and peripheral equipment.
Okuma machines on display will include an MB-4000H horizontal machining center cutting an aluminum aerospace part and performing pocket milling on 4140 steel. There will also be an LB-3000EX-MYW doing helical threading. All machines will be cutting parts and members of Partners in THINC will be on hand representing tooling, gauging, software and other machine tool accessory equipment.
Additional equipment and technology on display will include a Brown & Sharpe CMM, Romer Arm, Leica Laser Tracker and Tsugami Swiss-turn machine.
