(Cincinnati, OH) – Heule Precision Tools will feature SNAP tooling – a proven, high-performance solution for automated front and back chamfering of through-holes in a single pass, in IMTS Booth #431364.  Designed for CNC machining environments, SNAP eliminates the need to stop or reverse the spindle, saving valuable cycle time while ensuring consistent chamfers. Standard sizes range from 2.0 mm to 35.0 mm (0.079in to 1.378in) diameters, with custom solutions for larger diameter holes.

This unique technology combines Swiss precision with long-lasting carbide blades to deliver reliable performance and reduced labor costs across a wide range of industries and applications. Single-pass front and back chamfering delivers unparalleled efficiency, with reduced cycle times, tool changes, and downtime. Patented blade geometry ensures burr-free, repeatable chamfers throughout high-volume production runs. Coated carbide blades deliver long life and consistent results even in challenging materials.

Quick blade change design simplifies maintenance and minimizes time between runs. SNAP tooling is ideal for a wide range of industries and applications including automotive components and transmission parts, aerospace housings and precision bores, hydraulic and pneumatic manifolds, energy and heavy equipment castings, medical and small part manufacturing, and more.

    Simple, Reliable Operation

As the rotating tool is fed into the hole, the front cutting edge deburs the top of the hole by cutting a 45° chamfer. As the tool feeds into the part, the blade is forced into the body and slides into the blade window.

When the blade is in the hole, only the ground sliding surface touches the hole – protecting it from damage while the tool is fed through the part. There is no need to stop or reverse the spindle.

When the blade reaches the back of the part, the internal control mechanism acts with the control bolt to push it back into cutting position. The rear edge is deburred and chamfered as the tool is withdrawn. When the blade is again inside the hole, the tool can be rapid-fed out and on to the next hole.

A wide range of SNAP tooling is available, including cassettes that can easily be incorporated into multi-task tools including drills, boring tools, and more. Standard sizes are available from 2.00mm to 35.00mm (0.079in to 1.378in) diameters, with custom solutions for larger holes.  Additional information on Heule SNAP tooling, including case histories, can be found at https://www.heuletool.com/tools/deburring-chamfering/snap/ .
