Columbus, OH — August 12, 2010 – The Electromechanical Division of Parker Hannifin (NYSE: PH), a leading supplier of motion control equipment, has entered into a product development and distribution agreement with AMT Machine Systems (AMT) of Columbus, OH, to address the growing integrated motor control (IMC) market. Under the agreement, AMT will develop an intelligent servomotor drive, which incorporates motor control, I/O, motion control capability, and network communications, to be integrated with Parker Hannifin’s MPP series servomotors.

“AMT’s IMC technology has been used successfully for more than 7 years in a very challenging motion control application. This means a faster time to market with a proven, field-hardened product, which is key for Parker Hannifin,” said division marketing manager, Parker Hannifin Electromechanical Division, John Guite.

The IMC drive being developed by AMT is based on its field-proven CyberDrive™ intelligent drive. The CyberDrive™ module incorporates motor control, driver electronics, and Ethernet POWERLINK communications, which, when integrated with the MPP series servomotors, results in a line of high-performance, integrated, intelligent servomotors for industrial motion control.

The new integrated intelligent servomotor will be marketed by Parker Hannifin through its worldwide distribution network starting in 2011. Joe Bioty, president & CEO of AMT Machine Systems, said, “The agreement with Parker Hannifin is significant for us because it enables us to market our exciting CyberDrive™ technology through a highly-respected world-wide distribution channel. This will give AMT access to customers and applications that we could never have reached on our own.”
