Join the best of New England’s model engineers for a day of engineering excellence and fine craftsmanship. There will be a wonderful series of demonstrations and special lectures throughout the day.
The Art of Gun Engraving
10am at the Community Center
Internationally known gun engraver Winston Churchill and Australian Damien Connolly will present an illustrated lecture, The Art of Gun Engraving, with photographs of their acclaimed work. Now retired, Churchill is considered to be one of the best American gun engravers of all time, and Connolly has spent a lifetime perfecting his engraving and miniature firearms work.
Original vs. Restored: Which is Best?
11:30am and 1:00pm at the Community Center
Fred Gonet from G&G Restorations in Proctorsville VT will talk about his unrestored 1922 J.A. Police Special Harley Davidson, still in perfect running order.
Jones, Lamson & Co.’s Profile Milling Machine: Its Restoration and Its Importance2:30pm at the museum
Bill McCarthy, one of the Show’s founders and a museum trustee from Restoration Millwork, will talk about the restoration process he followed working on a Profile Milling Machine, one of the most important machines in the museum’s collection and currently on exhibit in Arming the Union: Gunmakers in Windsor, Vermont.
